Mormon lifestyle bloggers have captivated the Instagram feeds of thousands, thanks to their polished styles, flawless skin, and unbelievably shiny hair. They always appear so perfectly put together (Instagram vs. reality?) that we had to ask a few of our favorite bloggers for their secret beauty weapons. Find out what Rachell Parcell, Christine Andrew, Makenna Alysa, and Corrine Stokoe keep stashed in their beauty toolbox. Who knows, maybe their faves are yours, too?
Rachel Parcell, Pink Peonies
Rachel Parcell started her blog, Pink Peonies, in 2010 as a hobby with the initial intention of documenting her first year of marriage to her husband. After being featured on the cover of Utah Valley Brides Magazine and having her wedding photos go viral on Pinterest, Parcell’s blog really took off. “I started receiving fashion questions from women not only in Utah, but from around the entire country,” she says on her site. “They were more curious in what lipstick or top I was wearing than what activity my husband and I were doing that weekend.” Now, the blogger has close to one million followers on Instagram, two children, and a clothing line.
T3 Whirl Trio Styling Wand
“I was first drawn to the packaging and look of T3 products because they are gorgeous! (I had never before seen a white with rose gold curling wand.) Once I finally started using these products, I instantly fell in love and threw away all my other curling irons and blow dryers I had stored in my drawer. That was over a year ago, and I’ve never gone back. I also love that the wand comes with three interchangeable barrels, allowing you to create whatever style of waves you’re going for.” — Parcell
Giorgio Armani Liquid Silk Foundation
“One of my most frequently asked questions is about my favorite foundation. I’ve tested out a lot of different foundations over the years, but my absolute favorite is this Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation because it gives me great coverage — most importantly, it doesn’t look cakey. When I use it with my Beautyblender it gives me a flawless, natural-looking finish. I feel like I’ve been airbrushed!” — Parcell
GloPro Microstimulation Facial Tool
“I recently attended a retreat where I met the founder of Beauty Bioscience, Jamie O’Banion. At the retreat, I listened to her speak about her products, specifically the GloPRO, and I was blown away by her passion and love for her brand and products. That night, I tested it out and I haven’t gone a night without doing the full-glow routine. I’ve switched my skin-care routine, so I’m using all of her products, and I can’t believe how my skin has already changed for the better.” — Parcell
Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle
“I swear by this stuff! This is, hands down, my favorite detangler. I have superlong hair, so I have to use a detangler to brush my hair out after I shower. If I don’t, it’s so painful to brush and takes forever. I also have a two-year-old daughter and she hates when I have to brush out her tangles. This stuff smells like sugar and makes brushing my little girl’s hair out so much easier.” — Parcell
Christine Andrew, Hello Fashion
While not of the Mormon faith, blogger Christine Andrew lives in Salt Lake City and is still immersed in the community. She started her blog, Hello Fashion, in December 2011. What started as an online diary soon became a very successful showcase of Andrew’s love (and talent!) for fashion, beauty, travel, and home decor. With her husband (who has his own blog) and their three kids, Andrew has built somewhat of a style empire with the launch of her clothing line, ILY Couture, in 2011. Throughout the past six years, her eye for beauty still remains impeccable.
T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Blow Dryer
“It’s obviously really pretty, but beyond that, this T3 blow dryer actually dries my hair superfast and avoids any frizz. It’s high quality and worth every penny.” — Andrew
Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder
“I have been using this stuff for my hair for years. I love the full volume and texture it gives your hair, which is a must for everything from beachy waves to my go-to messy bun.” — Andrew
SkinMedia TNS Essential Serum
“This is another investment, but worth every penny. It improves your skin’s tone and texture and is great for minimizing wrinkles.” — Andrew
Vichy Micellar Solution
“This micellar water has become a permanent fixture in my nightly skin-care routine. It removes any impurities and pollutants, plus it doubles as a makeup remover. I hate that oily residue left by a lot of makeup removers, so I love that this one isn’t oily at all.” — Andrew
With her over 45,000 Instagram followers, Alyse shares dreamy pictures of her travels to the Amalfi Coast, Paris, Rome, and so many other idyllic locations. She also captures (and shares!) swoon-worthy, perfectly lit snaps of her husband that are, admittedly, worth the double tap. Ultimately, though, it’s Alyse’s beachy waves and French-girl beauty that are the most enviable.
Avene Thermal Spring Water
“Like everyone at the moment, I am obsessed with all things French, especially French beauty, so when I visited Paris recently I went crazy at the Parisian pharmacy and stocked up on all the French ‘It Girl’ products. I’ve totally fallen in love with Avène and am such a fan of this Thermal Spring Water. I like to use it after washing my face as a toner/primer before make up for that dewy fresh-faced look, but also love to keep one with me throughout the day to moisturize and refresh.” — Alyse
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre
“This is the ultimate French girl product. One of the things I love most about this is how multi-functional it is. It can be used as a cleanser, face mask, primer, and moisturizer. I use it morning and night as a moisturizer and use it as a primer before makeup to bring out that dewy glow.” — Alyse
Le Labo Bergamote 22 Perfume
“I think every woman needs a signature scent and this one is my personal favorite. I remember growing up, my mom and grandmother each had signature scents that they still wear to this day. I think there’s something classic about having a scent that people will remember you by.” — Alyse
Ouai Wave Spray
“I’m not big on curling or styling my hair daily — when I do, I’m only washing and styling it once a week. Having a texturizing spray that brings out my natural wave is absolutely essential for me. Unlike other wave sprays, this isn’t a salt spray that leaves your hair feeling dry and brittle from salt, but instead, it leaves your hair with a natural texture and shine — not to mention it smells absolutely amazing. This is the ultimate product for that effortless messy hair look.” — Alyse
Corrine Stokoe, Mint Arrow
Stokoe’s love for a good discount, M.A.C. lipstick, and her family makes her blog, Mint Arrow, relatable and inspirational for many women. “The only things I love more than saving while shopping,” writes Stokoe on her blog, Mint Arrow,, “are my three dear hearts: my husband and two little girls.” Her glow-y skin and honey caramel-colored hair are also beauty inspirations for her over 100,000 Instagram followers.
Buxom Full-on Lip Cream in White Russian
“This is my very favorite lip gloss of all time! It’s a really nice neutral that looks good on everyone.” — Stokoe
Kerastase L’Incroyable Blowdry Lotion
“I discovered this stuff recently and it’s amazing. It has micro wax particles in it, so whatever heat-activated styling you do to your hair lasts way longer. I feel like my curls (or even straightened hair) lasts so much longer since I started using this for blowouts.” — Stokoe
PMD Personal Microderm
“I always have a Black Friday deal on this on my blog because it’s a game-changer for skin. The PMD makes your pores [appear] smaller, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and redness, so your makeup goes on better.” — Stokoe
Tarte Brazilliance + Self Tanner
“This self-tanner doesn’t look orangey at all, but has the prettiest bronze-y glow. It smells good, too!” — Stokoe
